01

Cross-platform or native?

Most new apps are best built cross-platform — with a framework like React Native or Flutter — so one codebase runs on both iPhone and Android. That usually means faster delivery and a lower cost. Fully native apps (Swift for iPhone, Kotlin for Android) make sense when you need the very best performance or deep device features.

02

Start with the web — when it makes sense

If your idea hasn't been tested yet, a responsive web app or progressive web app can prove demand first, without app-store approvals. Many of our clients launch on the web, learn what people use every day, then add iPhone and Android apps that share the same back end.

03

Launching in the stores

Publishing requires an Apple Developer account (an annual fee) and a Google Play developer account (a one-time fee), plus app-store review. We prepare your builds, screenshots, descriptions and privacy details and guide you through submission.

04

Build it together

Have an app idea but not the budget? Pitch it as a Venture Partnership — if it's a fit, we build and run the app at no cost to you, as 50/50 partners.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need both an iPhone and an Android app?

Usually yes — in Canada both platforms have large audiences. A cross-platform build lets you launch on both from one codebase, so you don't pay for two separate apps.

How much does an app cost?

It depends on features. A focused first version (MVP) costs far less than a full-featured app. We'll help you scope the smallest version that proves your idea and give you a clear quote.

How long does it take to build an app?

A focused MVP typically takes a few months from design to store launch, depending on features, integrations and app-store review. We'll give you a timeline with your quote.

Who owns the app?

When you hire us, you own the app, its code and the store listings under your own developer accounts. In a partnership, ownership is set out in a written agreement before work begins.

Can you update an app someone else built?

Often, yes. We'll review the code and tell you honestly whether it's better to maintain it or rebuild.
